successful Ngo Volunteer Programs Placements.
Disaster Volunteers of Ghana was officially established in 2002. We saw the need in our communities for development projects and felt that it was a disaster that someone needed to do something about. As educated Ghanaians, we all felt the need to give other access the same gift of education that we have been blessed with. We were determined to develop a program that was different from the many other non-profit organizations that work in Ghana. One of our principal goals is to involve the entire community in each project that we work on. We know that if a community is invested in their futures, the project will be successful. When foreign volunteers show an interest in the community development program, it only intensifies the drive to make it a sustainable and worthwhile project. By connecting volunteers with Ghanaians in need, we create a mutually beneficial relationship of learning and sharing.
Divog volunteer ngo programs in Ghana include teaching English,Mathematics in primary and high schools,working at orphanages, medical students or doctors and nurses volunteering at hospitals and clinics, HIV/AIDS volunteering, coaching sports and building of schools,clincs,washrooms toilet construction workcamps.Volunteers can work on any of these projects whiles sharing love and passion in the communities as well as tailored volunteer packages for families on summer abroad breaks. |

ABOUT
US-VOLUNTEERING IN GHANA
Disaster Volunteers of Ghana (DIVOG) is a volunteer
based volunteering, non profit, non-partisan, non-governmental
organisation (NGO) registered in Ghana and working to
assist in the improvement of the lot of the
vulnerable and deprived in society through volunteer
programs and projects in teaching mathematics and english education, healthcare/medical student and
community development initiated projects like construction of schools,washrooms,library playgrounds and other integrated
rural development projects that worked in developing
countries.
DIVOG Volunteer Programs head office is based in Ho
Municipality which is the Volta Region of Ghana.
DIVOG has worked with some individual volunteers of
the American Peace Corps Ghana, Stacy Kreger in
Awudome Senior High School, and Peter Sodden in
Amedzofe Community in their communities. Some staff
of DIVOG also worked with DC Care International,
Evangel Community Mission, Ghana, Save Windows and
Orphanage Development Center and International
Medical Student Volunteers from the Section for
Tropical Medicine, Slovenia. |
