Summer Construction Voluntary Work Camp Volunteer
Building Voluntary WorkCamp Ghana,Africa
In Ghana, most rural communities lack sufficient infrastructure, as the inadequate sanitation and educational facilities directly impede development, hygiene, and progress. Toilets, school buildings, libraries, and potable drinking water are missing in many of our neighboring communities. For over nine years DIVOG has been connecting international volunteers and committed rural communities to solve these issues. As a Construction Volunteer in Summer, you can empower rural growth in two ways:
1) your program fees go towards construction material costs
2) you’ll be working side-by-side with local villagers on the project itself!
Digging, mixing sand and cement, carrying rocks and bricks, fetching water, painting, and bricklaying are a few of the duties you can take on, as you’re led by, and work with, skilled workers from the village who are also volunteering their time and energy. This experience can provide you with a new perspective of the massive obstacles that prevent growth in these rural communities, where resources are inaccessible and household incomes are low. Participating in the hands-on construction of fundamental infrastructure improves hygiene, education, and overall well-being—join DIVOG in our efforts to improve these conditions and educate Ghana’s youth about the mutual benefits of volunteerism!
