Agriculture Farming Volunteer PROGRAM DETAIL Agriculture is Ghana's future. It supplies 40 per cent of the gross domestic product but at present it is operating at only 20 per cent of its potential.The focus of our agriculture farming volunteering opportunity is to involve volunteers on farming projects that aim to use their farm produce to support orphanages.DIVOG have therefore decided to collaborate with orphanage homes in Ghana and the department of social welfare in providing food to these institutions in order to improve their standard of living. This is one of DIVOG's voluntary opportunities one can get as a farm land volunteer since your efforts are making impact in the life of these orphans.Time to make a big difference in the life of orphans really in need. VOLUNTEERS TYPICAL ACTIVITIES ON THE FARM Volunteers will be involved in planting, harvesting and handling of the various farm produce such as Maize, Yam, Plantain, Vegetables etc. PROJECT LOCATIONS PROJECT START DATES PROJECT DURATION ACCOMMODATION AND MEALS Typically volunteers are accommodated with a host family.Basically,there are three meals a day which are mostly breakfast,lunch and dinner but in some exceptions you could be provided with just two meals a day depending on your project locations so please we advice prospective volunteers make provision for the exceptions WHAT YOU CAN BRING TO SUPPORT Volunteers can bring along gloves,boots,farming equipments and inputs.Seeds and other farming tools and manuals |

DIVOG has initiated construction of kindergarten blocks for kids between the ages of 3 to 6 in the Volta Region of Ghana. This volunteer program has been initiated because kindergarten have been put into the mainstream of Ghana; s education and most of the school do not have classroom at all while those that have undertake lesson in open shed which does not promote effective teaching and learning.Would be Volunteers are needed to help compliment project initiated by communities in this regard.
