MEDICAL HEALTHCARE(HIV/AIDS) EDUCATION VOLUNTEERING GHANA
HEALTH EDUCATION (HIV/AIDS) VOLUNTEERING PROGRAM DETAIL
Volunteers will be placed with another organization to assist in raising awareness of HIV/AIDS through talks and seminars at local schools and community meetings. Issues to be discussed by volunteers include the history of HIV/AIDS, the nature of the disease, modes of transmission, statistics, ways to prevent its spread, and symptoms of the disease. This is an especially appealing project for health educators who may also use their education to help spread information about good hygiene and disease prevention. This knowledge can help strengthen communities throughout the Volta Region. These volunteers are likely to be placed in a school setting where they might also undertake some of the tasks of a typical DIVOG school volunteer.
