ORPHANAGE CARE VOLUNTEER
ORPHANAGE AND ORPHANS VOLUNTER ABROAD PROGRAM DETAILVolunteering in Ghana on our Orphanage support program is the best travel experience you can have since you would be making a difference in an unfortunate child’s life in the orphanage.Orphanage-volunteer-programs in Ghana consist of kids from needy home, street children as well as kids with one or both parents dead.Unfortunately, Most of these orphanages have poor resources,under staffed, and are facing lots of problems to run their programs. Help is needed in everything from cooking and serving food to the children, to assisting with their basic education with sports and English lessons.Your summer placement can help the house mothers who simply don’t have enough time in the day. The children get the guidance they need to brighten their futures and you as a volunteer in the orphanage receive an unforgettable experience by truly making a difference in a child’s life. VOLUNTEERS TYPICAL ACTIVITIES AT THE HOMEThe volunteer’s activities at the orphanages-in-Ghana depends both on the needs of the individual orphanage home as well as the skills and interests of the volunteers themselves. Volunteers will assist in the day-to-day co-ordination of the Home, teaching, counseling, exchanging cultural views, teach them about health and hygiene,School trips and weekend visits,Putting the children down for their naps, providing mental and physiological support, playing, cooking and feeding the children as well as other recreational activities. Volunteers can also assist in the office of the orphanage if you think you can contribute to make them more organized to run in an efficient manner PROJECT LOCATIONS PROJECT START DATES PROJECT DURATION ACCOMMODATION AND MEALS Typically volunteers are accommodated at the orphanage home but depending on the orphanage and its resources the volunteer could be with a host family.Basically,there are three meals a day which are mostly breakfast,lunch and dinner but in some exceptions you could be provided with just two meals a day depending on your project locations so please we advice prospective volunteers make provision for the exceptions WHAT YOU CAN BRING TO SUPPORT Children clothing’s, shoes, books, pens, crayons, pencils, erasers, story books, toys, playing materials(footballs, handballs, volleyballs) etc. |
