TEACH OVERSEAS VOLUNTEER PROGRAM DETAILS
Volunteer teach abroad-Arica.Volunteer teaching-mathematics,english,science and arts on various placement opportunities in schools throughout the Volta Region of Ghana. Most children in rural community schools lack quality education as a result of teachers refusing posting to rural community schools due to inadequate or lack of facilities in these schools. Volunteers are needed to make a lasting difference in Ghanaian community schools through education while experiencing African life and culture.You could teach in kindergarten,primary schoo,junior high and senior high school on your placement.It is ideal to indicate the level at which you want to teach.
Volunteers will have the opportunity to make a lasting difference in Ghananian communities through education while experiencing African culture and lif.You will be required to prepare your lessons, and mark your students' work. Many volunteers choose to help out in other areas too, taking students for extra-curricular activities like sport, drama or music lessons as an example.Other teachers are always helpful in preparing your lesson notes and to help you to easily adapt to the local learning environment.
VOLUNTEERS TYPICAL ACTIVITIES IN THE SCHOOL
As a volunteer teaching in Ghana,you will receive assistance from the local school teachers regarding the lesson plans and teaching curriculum. There will be a Teaching Guide book to assist you in your daily work with the children.Mostly you will be paired in class with a local teacher but in some circumstances you will have a class to yourself

The volunteers work could be at any of the schools that we support in the following towns: Kpandu,Sogakofe,Tsito-Awudome,Sokode and Hohoe

ACCOMMODATION AND MEALS
Typically volunteers are accommodated with a host family .Basically,there are three meals a day which are mostly breakfast,lunch and dinner but in some exceptions you could be provided with just two meals a day depending on your project locations so please we advice prospective volunteers make provision for the exceptions
WHAT YOU CAN BRING TO SUPPORT TEACHING IN THE SCHOOL
Teaching materials such as picture books, instruments, art works Donations of books, pens, notebooks, basic medical supplies, clothes, blankets, hygienic items, games etc. are welcomed. For large sum donations, please contact the Disaster Volunteers of Ghana(DIVOG) office.
