WORK CAMP PROGRAM DETAILS

Volunteers adventure travel to help on summer work camp will put smiles on the faces of the poor people in our deprive communities in Ghana. This project is necessary because government alone cannot develop all the communities therefore there is the need for rural communities to take initiative in developing their communities by putting their destiny into their own hands. In this regard volunteers serve as motivator on these projects.

This summer,there are two separate workcamps which are going to run concurrently in two different seperate locations.The first been the construction of an orphanage in Tsito in the Volta Region which starts on the 28th of June and the second been the building of three unit classroom block with office and store in beautiful Akwapim-Mampong in the Eastern region of the country which starts on 10th of May,2010 and expected to be completed in july.

CONSTRUCTION OF THREE UNIT CLASSROOM BLOCK WORKCAMP DETAILS - MAMPONG-AKUAPEM

Queen Esther Day Care Preparatory School is situated within the Mampong-Akuapem township with a total population of about 40,000 and the people mostly involve in small scale farming and petty trading, is located in the Akuapem North District of the Eastern Region of Ghana. BUILDING OF ORPHANAGE WORK CAMP PROGRAM DETAILS- TSITO - AWUDOME

Drifting Angels Orphanage and School is situated within the Tsito-Awudome township with a total population of about 2000 with their occupation mostly small scale farming and petty trading, is located in the Ho Municipality of the Volta Region of Ghana. VOLUNTEERS TYPICAL ACTIVITIES ON THE CONSTRUCTION SITE

Volunteers will be involve in doing unskilled work such as digging, mixing sand and cement, carrying rocks, sand and bricks, fetching water, and painting the school buildings. They will be led and work together with local skilled people who will be providing free labour for the improvement of their communities.

PROJECT LOCATIONS

The volunteers work could be at Akwapim-Mampong in the Eastern Region of Ghana or Tsito-Awudome in the Volta Region of Ghana.

Typically volunteers are housed in one residential building with all the necessary amenities and room sharing is common.
